Roadmap

This roadmap outlines the planned development focus and key feature releases for the upcoming year.

Focus: Overhauling the core systems for better performance, maintainability, and broader blockchain support.

  • Version 2 Remake:
    • Rebuild core application architecture. ✅
    • Refactor major components and core technology.✅
    • Improve codebase modularity and testability.✅
  • Performance Optimization:
    • Analyze and address frontend bottlenecks ✅
    • Optimize backend API response times and resource usage.✅
    • Improve asset loading and caching strategies.✅
  • Multi-Chain Capabilities:
    • Implement support for initial set of additional chains beyond the primary one, supporting both Polygon and Ronin.✅
  • Web2 compability
    • Support email/password auth ✅
    • Support social providers auth ✅
  • In-game token
    • New in-game token called Arcanium, can be bought using crypto or credit/debit cards.✅

Focus: Introducing fundamental game mechanics and content systems.

  • Quests System:
    • Design and implement quest logic (types, objectives, rewards). ✅
    • Develop UI for quest tracking and claiming. ✅
    • Integrate quests into the player progression loop. ✅
  • Wisps:
    • Re-add back wisps, free to play creatures and add Wisps tree exclusive gathering area
    • Implement Wisp summons, interaction and usage ✅
    • Integrate Wisps visually and functionally into the game world. ✅
  • Buildings System:
    • Develop core building mechanics (placement, construction, upgrades). ✅
    • Implement initial set of building types and their functions. ✅
    • Create UI for managing buildings. ✅
  • Dynamic collectible
    • Your existing collectibles will be able to be placeable across Arcadian Reclaim land ✅
    • new collectibles share the same art but have different rarities and boosts. ✅
  • Capybaras
    • playable characters with capabilities to evolve even further!
  • Alligators
    • Launch alligators
    • Airdrop some Arcanium per month for green eggs holders until alligators are fully launched

Focus: Deepening player involvement through active gameplay, skill development, and reward structures.

  • Active Gameplay Mechanics:
    • Introduce systems requiring direct player interaction and input in real-time.
  • Skills System:
    • Design a player skill tree or skill learning system.
    • Implement skill acquisition, leveling, and effects.
    • Integrate skills into core gameplay loops (e.g., combat, crafting, resource gathering).
  • Levels System:
    • Implement or enhance player/account leveling.
    • Define XP sources and level-based rewards/unlocks.
    • Display level progression clearly to the player.
  • Season** Pass:**
    • Design Battle Pass structure (free/premium tiers, duration, rewards).
    • Implement progression tracking and reward claiming system.
  • Frogs**:**
    • Bring back little frogs into the game and give them some sort of active gameplay

Focus: Planning the next steps based on prior releases, player feedback, and strategic goals.

  • To Be Determined (TBD):
    • Analyze data and feedback from Q1-Q3 features.
    • Prioritize bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and balancing adjustments.
    • Plan new content (e.g., new quests, buildings, skills, zones).
    • Evaluate and potentially prototype new major features based on market trends (Web3 developments, competitor analysis) and community input.
    • Refine multi-chain support based on usage and ecosystem developments.
